In today's high-stress, fast-paced world, it can be all too easy to forget to relax and have fun. Doing yoga and meditating are just some ways to de-stress. But, what about banging on a drum? The Lehigh Valley Drum Circle uses drumming as a therapeutic and healing tool. Seniors, Cancer Patients and those with Mental and Physical disabilities can benefit. Drumming helped Stephanie Schmoyer through breast cancer treatment, earlier this year. She says drumming helped her forget about her problems, during a very hard time. The drum circle is also a great way let go and unwind. You can get more information and learn about the drum circle's upcoming events at: www.LVDrumcircle.com.
For anyone considering installing a solar system, now may be a better time than ever to do so. One Lynn Township family decided to go with solar recently and they're taking advantage of some great refunds. Pennsylvania is offering over $22,000, while there is a 30% federal tax credit right now. "Renewable energy credits" come from the excess energy the solar system produces. A monthly income of $350-$400 a month can be made from the credits. The Greenawalt's system's total price tag is around $100,000. They expect it will be paid off in six and a half years. To help you decide if "getting off the grid" is a good option for your home, check out the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's website at: www.depweb.state.pa.us

A 165 mile trail runs from Wilkes-Barre all the way to Bristol, Bucks County. It’s called the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. The heart of that massive trail runs right through Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties. But, new federal funding cuts leave the popular tourist attraction in jeopardy. D & L uses federal money to fund the people who manage its programs. D & L is asking you to write to your local legislators and ask them to remember what the trail means to the area. Click the link below to contact Congress about the issue.

Help catch the bad guys!!! E-mail and telephone scams are surfacing using the IRS name as a lure. The goal of the scams is to trick you into revealing personal and financial information used to commit identity theft. In one scam the caller identifies himself as an IRS employee and offers a sizeable rebate for filing early. Another offers the victim a tax refund for a specific amount. A third e-mail scam notifies the recipient his or her tax return will be audited. They are all phony… the IRS does not send unsolicited, tax account related e-mails to taxpayers If you receive a questionable e-mail forward it to phishing@ IRS.gov.
