T-Mobile needs to provide better cell phone service to the area around Stroud Township in order to keep their FCC license. Instead of building a new structure, T-Mobile is looking to install nine, small antennas on the rooftop of Stroudsburg Middle School
T-Mobile would pay the school district $2,000 a month over the next 25 or 29 years with 10% increases every five years. The school would not assume any financial responsibility for the installment and maintenance of the antennas, and any damages to the building would be paid for my T-Mobile.
School board members were also concerned about potential health risks cell signals could cause, but Chris Milotich of T-Mobile said holding your cell phone up to your ear is closer to the safety limit than antenna sites.
