The debate over what to do with a township owned golf course in the Poconos continues. Middle Smithfield Township Supervisors held a public hearing last night to discuss rezoning the golf course at the Country Club of the Poconos. Supervisors want to rezone half of the course from residential to commercial. Rezoning would make it eligible to be developed. The township is looking to sell it possibly to someone looking to put in a hotel - but some residents are not as optimistic about what development would mean. The board of supervisors now has 45 days to make a decision about the zoning of that land.
