Local school districts are asking the state to excuse days lost to the March second blizzard last week. Most districts lost up to six days from the snow and power outages that followed it. The Stroudsburg High School acted as an emergency shelter. The district has asked the state to waive five of those lost days so the school year does not last too long into June. Pocono Mountain has also filed paperwork to waive six lost days. District officials say they expect the state to approve the request. Many other local districts are in the process of making similar requests.
