One teacher's love for hiking has become a fundraiser for his school in Lehigh County.

Art teacher Sean Raymond from the Hillside School in Macungie was inspired to make the 2,200 hundred mile trek on the Appalachian Trail across 11 states with two other teachers. Wednesday, July 11th, the trio made the halfway mark and stopped at Blue Mountain Resort for a meet and greet with students and faculty. All money raised from their hike will benefit the school's scholarship fund.

"Their dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail and also raising raising awareness for students with dyslexia and language based learning disabilities so they are raising funds so more students can benefit from a Hillside education," said Donna Henry, Head of Hillside School.

You can follow the adventures of the trio on social media using #HikingForHillside or make a one dollar per mile donation on the Hillside School's website, www.HillsideSchool.org/hiking-for-hillside
