Last month Lehigh Valley Health Network announced they would be occupying part of the new Pocono YMCA building proposed for Stroudsburg... and as News 13's Ameenah Thompson tells us -- today they have even bigger news.

President Cornelio Catena of Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono says "In addition to the family medicine center and the rehab we're going to have other healthcare programming such as weight loss, smoking sensation how to eat healthy and live healthy."

President Cornelio Catena of Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono says perhaps even programs dealing with mental health.

Catena says, "So just a lot of things for children and adults to improve the health status of the community."

Board president of the Pocono YMCA Judy Snyder says, "We are so excited how this is going to continue to improve Main Street and the community and you know seniors children at risk youth its going to be just so great."

Snyder says, "It's been something years in the planning and we're glad that it's finally getting off the ground and it's going to be a reality."

"Vaccine clinics health screenings evening family health talks cancer support groups and working with mental health so there's so much good coming from this."

Scott Peckins president and CEO of the Pocono Family YMCA says this partnership was the easiest decision to make.

Peckins says "What makes it so special is that we share common values and mission about helping the community and that's whats really important that when we get this building built it's going to make Stroudsburg even better than it already is."

Mayor Michael Moreno says, "LVHN Pocono we're so excited to have them here in the heart of the Poconos at the YMCA it helps out our Pocono families we're not just a YMCA of Stroudsburg we're the YMCA of the entire Monroe county so everyone can come here."

Stroudsburg mayor Michael Moreno says this will ensure everyone who comes here that their health is in good order.

Moreno says, "Because the best part of about your health is making sure you're maintaining it and the YMCA ensures that."

Catena says, "Right here in downtown Stroudsburg giving easy access to the community and an opportunity to be seen quickly and without a lot of a lot of problems."

Peckins says "On ward's upwards!"

Officials say although they have some time until the new facility is up and running they're eager to begin this new enhanced collaboration...
