A ban on fracking brings hundreds of residents to Wayne County.

State lawmakers, elected officials and hundreds of residents came out to Camp Ledore in Waymart for today's hearing on natural gas drilling. Last month,  the Delaware River Basin Commission started the process to ban fracking in the Delaware River Watershed.

Residents say their rights as land owners have been stripped along with their chance to make money from fracking. Many of the people in attendance are farmers, who have seen the success in neighboring Susquehanna County. They say they are fed up with the DRBC dictating what they can do with their own land.

State Representative, Jonathan Fritz says The House Policy Committee will continue fighting to remove the temporary ban on fracking. They plan to hold more hearings in the coming months.
