The welcome center off of I-80 in Delaware Water Gap is closed due to renovations. Travelers who stopped by didn't know it was shut down. Most people we spoke to were confused. Upgrades will be made to the Americans With Disabilities Act code, bathrooms and ventilation. PennDot says the project costs 2.5 million dollars, and the center won't reopen until memorial day in 2018. Residents we spoke to think the closure will be good for local businesses, but others think that money should be spent elsewhere in the community.
