State Police say a body was found in Wayne County on Thursday afternoon.
According to Police, two hunters came across the remains along Goose Pond Road in Salem Township around 4:30 p.m.
Police say they believe the remains to be that of a man but add the body could have been there for months possibly years because of the bad decomposition.
An autopsy was performed today, but the Wayne County Coroner could not determine the name of the man or the cause of death. The coroner says he believes that further testing will help identify the name of the deceased.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Police in Honesdale.
