The National Weather Service has issued Monroe and Carbon County a wind chill advisory as those temperatures could drop as low as -10 to -15 degrees! Everybody needs to be mindful as below freezing temperatures can be dangerous, but seniors need to be especially careful. Gretchen Peters of the Monroe Area Agency on Aging said seniors can be unaware of how cold they really are and suffer from hypothermia. She said with temperatures as low as their expected to be, frostbite can occur within ten minutes of outdoor contact. Stay warm out there, bundle up with layers, and keep your home heated!
