Three teenagers were walking to the bus stop near Eagles Ridge Development and Milford Commons when 22-year-old Isabella Tejada hit the three boys when she looked down to turn her defrosters on.
All three boys were taken to Lehigh Valley-Pocono Hospital and the driver was cited with careless driving. One of the boys had to undergo surgery.
When we spoke with neighbors, they were shocked, but not surprised by what happened. All of them say people drive carelessly and do not follow the signs. Stop signs are blown, one ways are driven down the wrong way, and the road is pitch dark in the early mornings. What we found was a lack of proper signage in the area and no light post to illuminate a part of the road that has no sidewalks. Neighbors tell us up to 30 children use this road to walk to the top of the hill for their bus.
