Leslie Perryman of Street 2 Feet and Crossroads Community Services is the lady in charge of conducting a PIT count which stands for Point-In-Time. Officials and volunteers go into areas where homeless people are to gauge how serious the homeless challenge is by conducting anonymous surveys with those individuals.
People from all walks of life came out to help and collect data. Students, business owners, and ordinary citizens joined the effort to find these people and offer services. The surveys and information gathered goes to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
