The sun was back out Thursday and so were crews working on finishing up a major construction project at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center.

The center has been undergoing a large-scale construction project since last year.

News 13 stopped by earlier today to check out the progress of the renovations which include a new roof and siding, along with other exterior improvements.

"The siding will be an eggplant purple and the trim and the molding is an amber color which go in line with the colors of our logo. The roof is a copper penny and we decided to go with a tin roof for longevity," said Leona Rega, coordinator of the Arts Center.

Rega tells us construction should be completely done by the end of next week.

The renovations to the Arts Center were made possible with the help of donations collected at last year's big benefit concert.
