Local families enjoy a free night at the movies, complete with soda and popcorn.
Turn To Us held a free movie night at Mahoning Valley Cinema Thursday night.
Almost one hundred people came out for the screening of "Peter Rabbit." The event was part of the non-profit's "Spectrum of Support" series. It gives families with children on the autism spectrum a chance to get out and enjoy quality time with each other and other families going through the same thing.
"It means so much to bring families that have a child that has autism spectrum disorder together so they understand they're not alone. There's a lot of resources here in our county we can provide for them and by meeting other families they get to form their own little network and support group," said Alicia Kline, executive director of Turn To Us.
Turn To Us is partnering with St. Luke's Rehabilitation Department for the "Spectrum of Support" series.
