A local artist is using his artwork to benefit the Palmerton Area Library.

Paul Swedar is a Nesquehoning native who has been drawing and painting since a young age. He also volunteers at the Carbon County prison where he gives books, donated by the Palmerton Library, to the inmates.

"Because the Palmerton library is helping us with the library up at the prison, I wanted to give back to the Palmerton library," said Swedar.

Swedar's paintings will be on display at the library from Wednesday, the 11th until Saturday, the 21st. You can view and purchase them at any time during library hours.

Twenty percent of the profits made from sales will go back to the library.
