A court hearing regarding the Cunfer Farm biosolids controversy in East Penn Township has been continued.

Earlier this month, the township sued Synagro, Inc. and the owners and operators of Never Done Farm for their failure to apply for a permit from the township to store and spread sewage sludge on the farmlands.

The farm's use of biosolids was approved by DEP in March.

A hearing on the matter was set for Friday but is being delayed at Synagro's request.

The hearing is now scheduled for July 17th and July 20th.

Last week, a Carbon County judge granted the township an emergency relief injunction, keeping the farm from storing and applying the sludge, that remains in effect.
