School bus stop changes in the Panther Valley School District are creating concerns among Lansford residents.
Numerous people voiced concerns about the new bus stop locations at Wednesday night's borough meeting, specifically the one at the intersection of Abbott and Coal Streets.
Residents who live by the stops say they were not notified about the changes.
They're concerned about littering, parking, safety issues and drug activity near their properties.
"There's concerns they have because they live in the area and they see the things going on so we have to take those things into consideration. I don't know if that could be the ultimate reason for us approving or denying a bus stop, but it's also something we can take into consideration," said Jared Soto, borough council president.
Borough and school district officials made the decision to add several bus stops around Lansford in an effort to reduce overcrowding.
Soto says they will discuss the concerns with the school district moving forward.
