Students in Weatherly are learning all about STEM.
Thursday was National STEM Day and hundreds of students district wide spent both Thursday and Friday engaging in a number of STEM activities.
News 13 stopped by the high school Friday morning where an educator from the Da Vinci Science Center was there to teach kids about combining art, science and other skills.
"Research shows that arts integration with other core subject areas increases students' interest and engagement and motivation to learn so they're learning not only art content but science, technology, engineering and math," said Ann Bebout, manager of professional development programs at the Da Vinci Science Center.
The students learned how to use an electric circuit to construct a machine to draw pictures. Other activities included fingerprinting and a water bottle flipping challenge.
