A Honesdale High School student and her family have filed a complaint with the state Department of Education against the Wayne Highlands School District. The student and her family contend that the school district allowed a transgendered male student to use the girls locker room.
The 12 page complaint contends that the school district avoided questions from the girl's family about the policy for transgendered students. The family's attorney released a video with the student and her parents about her experience.
In it the unidentified student explains how she felt encountering the transgendered student while changing in the locker room.
The family calls the incident a case of sexual harassment by the school district. Their attorney says the policy discriminates against girls. The school district has not commented on the complaint. More of the video and the complaint itself can be found on the website below.
