A Lehighton woman who has overcome a major obstacle is lacing up her shoes this weekend to race in the oldest marathon in the united states...
Lisa Georgis will be taking on the Boston Marathon for the seventh time in her life. Her marathon time of 3 hours and 48 minutes earned her a number bib.
Back in June, Georgis was in a roll over crash, breaking her knee and pelvis causing a halt in her training. After six months of recovery she's back to running.
"That was a big mental thing for me but I tried to stay positive. I did everything pool running, walking, walking with a walker, walking with crutches," said Georgis.
Over 30,000 runners will take the starting line for the 123rd Boston Marathon this Sunday.
