After a year long trial, suspended Palmerton High School principal will be reinstated.
The room erupted in cheers Tuesday night as the Palmerton School Board voted in favor of Husar with a 7-2 vote.
Superintendent Scot Engler recommended Husar's dismissal back in 2017. A list of nearly 20 charges included breaking district policies, a 2016 field trip incident, and harassment and intimidation of fellow employees.
Husar's attorney, Mark Bufalino spoke on her behalf after Tuesday's vote.
"The board's vote says a lot more about Mr. Engler's actions than Ms. Husar's. We'll continue to weigh our options as we go forward, but right now Paula is focused on what matters most to her which is going back to her job as the principal of the high school," said Bufalino.
Administration will now contact Husar to set a date on when she will return to work. She has been on unpaid leave since September of 2017 when she was escorted off campus.
