A wrong way driver runs into cars on Route 33 in Monroe County Wednesday night, sending several people to the hospital. 

It happened around 6:15 p.m. when the driver of a black Jeep was driving south in the northbound lane of Route 33 in Snydersville and hit two cars head-on.

Traffic was at a standstill while emergency crews were on scene.

The extent of the injuries is not known.

Route 33 reopened to traffic around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
