May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it's time to erase the stigma. Not long ago it was considered weak to have a mental illness like depression, or anxiety. Now we know more about these conditions, and how to properly treat them.

According to the National Alliance of Mental Illness 1 in 5 Americans suffer from a mental Illness. That means you can be certain you know someone suffering right now.

We had a chance to speak with professionals that deal with both adults and children. We're told no matter the age, addressing the problem as soon as possible is imperative. If you have grown more irritable, has mood swings, trouble starting your day, or any other signs of mental illness,m you may want to speak with your doctor.

For kids that don;t know where to turn, there's a website called It's powered by KidsPeace, and offers kids a free anonymous way to discuss their problems, and find solutions.
