The trial for a Tamaqua man charged with stabbing his wife to death in 2017 is underway in Schuylkill County court.

Robert Bailey, 54, is accused of stabbing his wife Diane 27 times with a pocket knife outside the couple’s Lafayette Street home on the night of November 26, 2017.

Bailey has admitted to the crime and is facing first- and third-degree murder charges, among other offenses.

On Monday, several witnesses testified including Robert and Diane’s daughter, Kali Hile. She was there when her father killed her mother and described her father as looking “dead inside” with “no color in his eyes” that night.

Bailey’s trial will continue Tuesday with more testimony.
