Officials in Pike County are still searching for a company to provide paramedic service to the county. Officials have been searching for another company to provide service for the past two years. This week a group of township officials heard from an Oklahoma based company about the potential costs of paramedic service.

Lehman Township Supervisor Theresa Laino says the company believes they would need to make at least $75,000 per year on paramedic services and 500,000 for basic ambulance calls. The also believe operating a service in Pike County would cost 5 Million dollars per year. The committee investigating paramedic services expects to hear back from them in two weeks.

Pike County is the only county in the state without a hospital. That has been identified as a major difficulty in providing paramedic service.
