Several groups in Monroe county also took time today to remember the lives lost in the attacks.War veterans and church leaders don't want people to forget the events of 9/11.

“We were all United there wasn’t race, there wasn’t anything it was just Americans that same together,” said Danny Insalata, Commander of American Legion post 927. “They tried to break our spirit that day, but they didn’t,” he added.

Insalata remembers the way people looked after each other following one of the nations most memorable tragedy's. He feels after so many years people aren't as united as they were in that time period, he hopes that the yearly 9/11 events at post 927 will help bring them together.
