The Lehighton boys and girls band has been helping area students find their love for music for over 100 years, and they're currently looking for the next group of aspiring musicians.
Students ages nine and up are encouraged to come out Saturday, September 21st for an expo at the band hall on 6th Street in Lehighton from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The expo will feature brief performances and demonstration of instruments from instructors. Director of the boys and girls band says no musical experience is necessary, just come eager to learn.
"I really believe that music should be a part of every students life and everyone should be given the opportunity to come and learn an instrument and this is a really great place," said Band Director Alyssa Schoch.
Instructors will also help parents get their children get signed up for low-cost lessons and free loaner instruments if they find an instrument they feel most, "in tune" with.
