An Easton man serving time in state prison for a 2017 murder in Lehighton is found dead in his jail cell.

Officials from the State Correctional Institution in Benner Township confirm 32 year old Yessy Rivera was found unresponsive in his cell Sunday morning. He was given medical treatment before being transported to mount Nittnay Medical Center in State College where he was pronounced dead.

No official cause of death is known at this time, but the Department of Corrections is investigating.
