The Tamaqua Salvation Army is offering holiday help to those in need. Registration is now open for families to add their child's names to the Angel Tree.
The assistance is available to individuals and families in the Tamaqua and Panther Valley school districts.
Wednesday, October 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday, October 10th from noon until 6 p.m. are the last days to register. The Angel Tree program provides gifts for newborns through age 12.
Each child's name will be placed on a tag with their clothing sizes, favorite colors and toy wish list for community members to sponsor. Officials say those interested must bring some important documents along to be qualified.
"Each family is required to bring proof of residence, proof of the number of folks in the residence, and some proof of family income," said Captain John Luby.
Any questions on the program or other requirements can be directed to the Salvation Army.
Officials say residents can also apply for the Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets at the registration days.
