A new co-working space in Pike County will give entrepreneurs a place to start up their business.

The space will give independent contractors and those who work from a home, a chance to get out of the house and focus on their work.

"This is just a cool, creative, collaborative spot."

Katrina Foster wanted to give career driven entrepreneurs a space to focus on their business.

“There really is nothing like this in the area so I figured why not me. “

Foster labels herself a serial entrepreneur and wanted to provide something she never had when starting up.

“I was operating out of my basement so I wish I had something like this when I was trying to get my business off the ground. “

She created Konnect, a co-working space located on Hartford Street in Milford.

“I think it’s the perfect space for people who work from home, entrepreneurs, creative and collaborative people who want to start a business. “

The space includes high speed internet, printers and unlimited tea and coffee.

“It’s a good space, it’s very comfortable and there really isn’t anything like this anywhere in town. “

“I could absolutely see myself working in a space like this as opposed to the library or coffee shop and things like that. “

Rose Fernandez is a young artist who’s been trying to launch her own business.

“You need to make sure people are seeing your artwork, buying it, but even if they aren’t buying it you need to get yourself out there. “

Fernandez calls the co-working space ideal especially since social media is the backbone of her business.

“To just have a creative place to get my business of its feet. “

And Foster hopes more entrepreneurs like Fernandez take advantage of this opportunity she only wish she had.

“I think paying it forward and mentorship are the paramounts of any business, but especially mine. “

There is a fee to use the co-working space. There are both daily and monthly passes available. Prices can be found on their website.
