It's fire safety prevention week!
Students at St. Joe's preschool get a special lesson on the A-B-C's of fire safety. Members of the Jim Thorpe fire company stopped by the school today to teach the kids what to do in the event of a fire or when they hear a smoke alarm go off. The deputy fire chief tells the kids it's important to know two ways out of their bedroom or other parts of their homes in the event of a fire. He says the kids are never too young to be prepared. "Fire prevention is every day of your life, every day of the year- not just one day or one week of programs. It's every day." The kids even got an up close look at a fire truck.
