Governor Tom Wolf made his way through Wayne County this afternoon.

Governor Tom Wolf was joined by state and local leaders to tour Honesdale’s historic downtown.

Governor Tom Wolf made a special holiday pit stop in Honesdale this afternoon.

“We want to tour the historic area and I also want to show my commitment to helping small towns like this. “

Honesdale holds a special meaning to Wolf and he appreciates the town’s rich history.

“I was a camp counselor here just near Lake Wallenpaupack so this is just a special place to be.”

Wolf is making the rounds to stress the importance of shopping local.

“I really think this is the future of retail, people love this kind of thing. “

Store owners in Honesdale appreciate the Governors support.

“We employ a lot of people we pay a lot of tax and it’s important that he recognizes this. “

Wolf took a tour of the Arts for him and her, a custom tailor shop and clothing retailer.

“He needs to know what is going on in his state. Lots of great stuff happening in small town Pennsylvania.

But Wolf also proved he practices what he preaches and didn’t go home empty handed.

“So I’m over here helping the economy. “

And for Fasshauer, that’s the beauty of shopping local. Its more personal touch helping you find the perfect gift for that special someone.

"These are the people you know, the people that spend money and these are the people that make the community what it is. "
