Pocono Resorts are gearing up for a busy two weeks.

Tourists from all over the Mid-Atlantic region have made plans to spend the holidays in the Poconos.

That translates to busy resorts, waterparks, ski slopes and restaurants.

It’s not just the busiest time of the year for Santa, resorts in Monroe County are also experiencing the hustle and bustle.

William Garrett of Maryland says, "This is actually part of our son’s Christmas gift."

Garrett’s family is getting a head start to the holiday festivities at Camelback Lodge and Aquatopia Waterpark in Tannersville. It’s their first time experiencing everything the mountain has to offer along with some added cheer.

Garrett says, "They had Mrs. Clause reading some stories and doing some songs. It was really nice."

A Christmas day buffet is also planned for the guests to enjoy all their holiday favorites, Santa will stop by and there’s lots of seasonal crafts.

Senior Marketing Manager Erin Calpin of Camelback Lodge &  Aquatopia Waterpark says, "We also have our stocking stuffer add-on, which is great for kids when they get to their room and they can open their stocking stuffer and it has a Christmas necklace, build your own ornaments and pillow decorating."

The resort is expecting to check off every room on their list.

Calpin says, "We do predict that we’ll be fully sold out within the next few days. We definitely encourage people to book now rather than wait."

And so is Great Wolf Lodge over in Scotrun. It’s one of their busiest weeks of the year.

Great Wolf Lodge Guest Services Director Brieanna Grande says, "We have Santa coming, we have our kids experience team doing dance parties. It’s just a lot of fun and a lot of work getting prepped. And we have our Christmas tree in the lobby that our engineering team helped put together."

The Wilson family has been at the resort at least 20 times but never at Christmas time until now.

Elizabeth Wilson of Maryland says, "The kids have so much fun playing. The decorations are beautiful."

And they don’t have to ask Santa for snow for this year. It magically appears daily in the lobby.

Both resorts are also gearing up to ring in the New Year. They both have parties and events planned that you can find on their websites.
