As part of state (LSA) gambling money, the West end food pantry in Monroe county will receive over 60 thousand dollars to install central air conditioning units.Volunteers say conditions can become dangerously humid in the summer and the temperature can affect how long the food says fresh.

“They work hard emptying these pallets, and you can work up a heavy sweat real quick,” said Volunteer, Bill Thek.

The units will be installed before the summertime to help preserve the food and keep the volunteers cool.
