College students everywhere are among those trying to adjust to the "new normal" created by the covid-19 pandemic. Some graduate students in the medical field were on rotations and ready to graduate this summer when our health crisis began and halted their ability to help. These are students in the physician assistant program at DeSales University. Many of them were working side by side with health care providers who are still on the front lines. The students put together this message for all those heroes to let them know they're thankful for their sacrifice, hoping they stay safe and sending them lots of love. They call their mentors healthcare heroes. These students also serve as volunteers at the DeSales free clinic at the Allentown Rescue Mission. The clinic provides medical care to men who would otherwise have no access to care. The students are trying to help the rescue mission in their absence. We are told the clinic needs masks and gloves for use in the facility. If you are making homemade masks or have access to masks or gloves the students would appreciate you sending them to help the Allentown Rescue Mission. The students are proud and honored to support the clinic and the mission and they can't wait to be just like all our healthcare superheroes on the frontlines.
