The Lehighton Ambulance Association welcomes a new addition to it's fleet.

Members of the association call the new vehicle a, "compact ambulance." It's equipped with everything from cardiac machines to medications and other essential technology.

The quick response vehicle will be used for assistance at high priority calls.

"It can do everything a paramedic can do on an ambulance just without the transport capacity, so we would need either Mahoning Valley, Palmerton, or Lake Harmony to come with us. So the paramedic is there and we have all of the skill," said Casey Rich.

Officials say the vehicle will also be used at community outreach events. They hope to be able to hit the road with it by next week once it's fully licensed.
