We now know two adults and a 9-year-old girl were found dead inside a home on East Patterson Street in Lansford on Tuesday
How the deaths occurred remains under investigation with authorities, but police say it is an isolated, tragic incident.
"There's absolutely no danger to the surrounding community or people at large. It is isolated and contained to this residence," said Lansford police chief, Jack Soberick.
Lansford police were called to the residence around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon.
"We responded and found a crime scene," said Chief Soberick.
The adult man, adult woman, and one child were all found dead. Two other boys, 17 and 8, were also found inside the home, unharmed. They were taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
Neighbors we spoke with say they hadn't ever interacted with the family.
"I'd see the younger boy go and pick up his siblings from the bus stop but that's about it. I'd see the parents here and there maybe," said Kaitlin Searfoss.
The Clements family also lives nearby and was saddened to hear what happened.
"It's sad...really sad," said Cynthia Clements.
"There's a lot that goes on in this town and when I heard, I genuinely was not surprised," said Emily Clements.
Police say the incident is domestic-related, and most certainly a tragedy.
"I'd like to express my condolences to the family members of the deceased in the house. It was a tragic situation and we're going to work to figure out exactly what happened here," said Chief Soberick.
The investigation is ongoing. Autopsies of the three victims will be performed on Friday.
