A Monroe County movie theater is gearing up to reopen after months of waiting. This Friday the Pocono Cinema and Cultural Center will be pulling back the curtain to show a classic.

They are starting off with a week of free showings of Superman and the Goonies. Theater officials say they want to make up for missing the free family movie series during the pandemic. They say to follow health guidelines they will be cleaning between each show and only filling the theater to half capacity.

"Even though it's fifty percent you're not all going to be in the same area you're gonna be spaced out with the distancing of a minimum of six feet if not more between you and the other guests," Courtney Tolino, President of Pocono Cinema and Cultural Center, said.

All of the movie time showings are listed on the cinemas website.
