Thousands of gallons of water are flowing once again at Split Rock Resort's H2Oooohh!.
While the resort reopened on June 11th, it waited until Wednesday to reopen the indoor water park.
"When we knew that we were open H2Oooohh!, we were ready but we did make sure we watched and did it at the proper time," said Jeanine Hofbauer, Split Rock's marketing manager.
Like the rest of Split Rock, H2Oooohh! is operating at half-capacity to allow for social distancing.
"When the volume of guests come in over the weekend, we're going to be very cautious of that so we're literally going to be using clickers to keep an eye on 'in and out' 'in and out,'" said Chuck Dickinson, the resort's opeartions manager.
Floor markers are in place, lounge seating is spaced out, and lifeguards now don protective face guards.
Managers say staff have also been re-trained to make sure they can accommodate guests safely.
"Safety is the name of our game to begin with so it wasn't difficult for us to correlate COVID instructions to life-saving instructions," said Dickinson.
Masks must be worn throughout the resort but can come off in the water park. Like many other places, Split Rock has stepped up cleaning procedures.
"We've been disinfecting all along but the necessary steps to go the extra mile is obviously what we put in place with wiping down chairs, wiping down areas, and the proper disinfecting that we've been directed to do," said Hofbauer.
Resort staff feel they've done what's necessary to inform guests of restrictions, and are excited to be one step closer to "normal."
"It's a great thing and it just makes our team excited to welcome people back and see the smiling faces, see the kids running around smiling. It's great, we love this stuff," said Hofbauer.
