A Lehigh County distillery is switching back to making spirits after months of making hand sanitizer.
8 Oaks Farm distillery in New Tripoli switched to making the sanitizer back in mid March to help out the community. They produced 30,000 gallons which filled up 100,000 eight ounce bottles.
"It was a great example of community coming together for a common cause. We had a countless amount of donations, individuals who donated to the project. We had businesses like Nestle and Niagra that donated bottles, we had other local businesses who donated trucks and fork lifts and things like that," said owner Chad Butters.
8 Oaks still has lots of hand sanitizer if any business or municipality needs some. The distillery is now back to making spirits like whiskey, vodka and gin.
