The rising waters of the McMichaels Creek leaves three men stranded.
We're told the three men had set up a tent along the creek under the 7th Street bridge. By 2 p.m. this afternoon, the men found themselves surrounded by water as it continued to rise. The water was rushing too fast for rescue crews to enter the creek. Instead, they decided to first drop down life preservers to the men before trying to bring them to shore.
"We have a boat coming from Bushkill Fire Department and we're going to send a boat across to get them and retrieve them, and then bring them back to land," Stroudsburg Fire Chief, Charlie Franz, said.
The men were eventually brought to the banks of the creek in Stroudsburg. No word on their condition. The 7th Street bridge was closed while crews conducted the water search.
