The Carbon County Animal Response Team helps local agencies when animals are involved in emergency situations. A new piece of equipment will make their jobs a whole lot easier.

Thursday morning "CART" received a 16 foot long aluminum stock trailer. the trailer was ordered last spring, but due to Covid-19, production was delayed significantly.

They say they've seen incidents where horses or other large animals fall and can't get up. Or sometimes the animals get loose and need to be rescued from situations and returned home.

Officials say this new trailer fulfills a major need.

"Now that we have this piece of equipment we can do what we need to more efficiently as far as transporting and rescues," said CART co-coordinator Frank Beckett.

The trailer was paid for using a grant from the Department of Agriculture.
