After months of being closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic,  a historic Schuylkill County movie theater is back in business.

The Angela Triplex Theatre in Coaldale is welcoming back movie lovers with weekend showings. Seating is limited to 25% capacity, but that means there's plenty of room to social distance.

Masks must be worn and staff are taking extra precautions to sanitize high touch areas.

The general manager tells News 13 last weekend was the first round of showings for the movies Fatima and Unhinged. They're grateful for the community's support though this tough time.

"Oh it feels great. I mean, we couldn't have done it much longer. We started a go fund me page to try to raise money to keep it going and we haven't gotten anything from the state, federal of anything like that.  No grants, loans nothing," said general manager Michael Tanchak.

For right now the theater will show movies on Saturday and Sunday. The theatre hopes to expand to Friday showings in the near future. Show times can be found online or on Facebook.
