The pandemic has severely cut down on fundraising for non-profits. That's why a business in Monroe County is hoping you'll come out for a sweet treat this week to benefit some local heroes.

The Chick-fil-A in Bartonsville is partnering with Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Fire Company to do “cookies for a cause”. The fast-food restaurant is donating a portion of the proceeds from all cookies purchased this week to the volunteers.

"We are very involved in the community, we like to partner with a lot of organizations, especially ones that focus on education, homelessness, hunger and community outreach. And we know that this year has been really hard for organizations that rely on fundraising and donations and so we have a good partnership with Captain Daniel and so he was talking with us about some of those challenges and we thought what a great way for us to give back to the community," Amanda Morris, Owner of Bartonsville Chick-fil-A, said.

If any other organizations are looking to partner with Chick-fil-A, just go to their website at cfabartonsville.com and click the donations link.
