Several students are named the winners of a special scholarship to help them pay for their 2021 spring semester at East Stroudsburg University.

Alexis-Starr Wilson, Brittni Borgella, Ariel Kyle and Shade Stoke-Campbell were awarded the Boddie Scholarship. To receive the scholarship they had to write an essay on their commitment to social justice through university and community involvement. It's named after the first African-American student to graduate from ESU back in 1904. The students say it is an honor to carry on her legacy by showing other students of color anything is possible.

Each scholarship recipient will be recognized at the 24th annual Martin Luther King Jr. awards on the 18th.
