An annual Schuylkill County chili cook off goes curbside.

Galen Glen Winery in Andreas is hosting its eighth annual chili cook off and has partnered with chef Mark of local farm-to-table restaurant "Curious Goods." This year participants must order a chili sampler kit beforehand either online or in-person and pick up their items curbside. The twenty-five dollar kit includes a bottle of wine and three separate containers of beef, chicken, and pork chili.

Winery co-owner Sarah Troxell is happy to have found a way to continue the tradition in a non-traditional way and says five dollars from each kit is donated to the West Penn Fire Company. "We're really looking forward to being able to continue to contribute to them because with COVID everything's been a little different and they still need help and support."

Chili sampler kit pickup days are Friday through Sunday this weekend and next weekend. To purchase your kit and set up a pickup time head over to and search for the links to sign up on their events page.
