A Monroe County church is bringing women in the community together.

East Stroudsburg United Methodist church is holding it's annual women's retreat virtually this year. It kicks off at 9 a.m. tomorrow. They'll have guest speaker, Heather Holleman, as well as group chats and times for worship. Organizers say they weren't sure how the event would do this year since they can't be together in person, but they are receiving great responses, even some from out of state.

"It's exciting because we have people as far away as Florida who are registered for this event. So, the nice part about doing something virtually is if you don't have to travel you can come from anywhere. So, we're excited to see how many women join us from all over," Kelli Mercurio, Member of the Women's Ministry, said.

Mercurio says they plan to utilize virtual options for retreats in the future to make sure anyone who wants to be involved can be.
