A Carbon County resort is clearing some room for renovations.
Instead of selling or disposing of its old furniture, Split Rock Resort is making a massive donation to a worthy cause.
Earlier today, sleeper sofas, tables, chairs and everything but the kitchen sink were packed into a Salvation Army truck parked outside Split Rock. This truck is heading to the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Scranton and is just one of many the resort has been loading up over the last few days.
"It's extremely important especially because some of these places are at a shortage to help their community and give these things to the community and Split Rock officials are very community oriented and we wanted to make sure that this went to a worthwhile cause because it helps our friends and neighbors in need."
The large furniture donations come from more than 274 rooms clearing the way for new appliances, flooring, painting, and décor.
