A new cross lights up the sky in Honesdale just in time for Easter.
The cross was taken down from Gibbons Park back in 2018, but now it stands proudly overlooking the Downtown on David Nilsen's property. 100 feet of lights have been attached to the roughly 25 foot cross. It took Nilsen two days to construct it with help from the community.
"With 2020 and COVID and the stresses that have been put on the people here I felt like this Easter should really shine, and no better way to make it shine than to put the cross back up on the hill for everyone to see," Nilsen, said.
Nilsen says he's received great feedback from local residents across Wayne County who are happy to see the cross shining bright.
