If you've been late returning your books and piling up fines one library is allowing you to pay them down with food donations.
For the month of April, Palmerton Library is accepting food donations in place of money as part of their Food for Fines program. A shopping cart is set up in the library to collect donations that benefit the Christian Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches.
"They have gone above and beyond during the pandemic this year to make sure that our community has food and is food sustainable and so that this is a win-win for us for supporting their mission and also paying down some fines at the library."
The program runs through the end of April, which should give you enough time to put together some food cans and return those overdue books.
